Key deliverables of EBRD project published

The results of International Project "Ukrainian Carbon Market Facilitation Programme" financed by EBRD are officially available.

The Project was carried out by the consortium of consultants from Spain (Factor CO2, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo), and Ukraine (SEC "Biomass" and Vasil Kisil & Partners).

Project was initiated by EBRD in March 2009 and was aimed to provide Ukraine a technical assistance in climate financing and carbon market development.

Principal tasks of the Programme included:

• Prognosis of long-term emissions of greenhouse gases and potential of reduction in Ukraine till 2050;
• assistance in further elaboration of institutional legal framework for Joint Implementation and International Emission Trading schemes;
• increasing of local capacity.
