Construction of biogas collection and utilization systems at MSW landfills in Ukraine

Construction of biogas collection and utilization systems at MSW landfills in UkraineExecution period: 07-12/2009

Objective: Selection of technological schemes and circuitries for design of full-scale collection systems

Project description:

The Project consists of developing a Landfill Gas collection and flaring system with an opportunity of its further energy utilization in order to avoid emissions of methane being released into the atmosphere (JI project)

Project activities:
  • Assessment of potential and modelling of gas generation at MSW landfill
  • Pump test conduction
  • Development and introduction of technological schemes for biogas collection and utilization
  • Design of full-scale collection systems
  • Development of Project Idea Note (PIN) and Project Design Document (PDD) for JI project “Landfill methane capture and utilisation at Mariupol landfills, Ukraine”
  • Supervising of project construction
  • Monitoring

Place of implementation: MSW landfill of Mariupol city, Ukraine
