Targeted Research Project Global Assessment and Guidelines for Sustainable Liquid Biofuels Production

Aim of the project: The Global Environment Facility (GEF) project is aimed to thoroughly investigate conditions and opportunities for the production of 2nd generation biofuels in Mozambique, Argentina and Ukraine. For Ukraine’s conditions the project considers production of bioethanol from wheat straw and synthetic biodiesel from poplar as an energy crop.
Analysis of current state and prospects for bioenergy development in Ukraine

Aim of the project: We thoroughly considered and analyzed state of the art and prospects for the development of bioenergy in Ukraine: potential of biomass for energy production, existing and perspective bioenergy equipment, legislation and standardization issues, development strategy and opportunities for the attraction of investments in the bioenergy sector.
Biomass CHP plants in Ukraine and Russia

Aim of the project: We collected and analyzed information on biomass CHP plants, which operate or are planned to be built in Ukraine and Russia.

International Conference on Biomass for Energy

Subjects of this annual conference cover a wide range of issues related to energy use of biomass: the biomass resources, research and development of bioenergy technologies, demonstration and commercial projects, legislation, strategy and finance, economic and environmental aspects of bioenergy sector. The conference program includes plenary presentations, oral and poster presentations, roundtable discussions. Seminars and workshops are held at the conference.
