Bioenergy development in Ukraine: State of the art and perspectives
Geletukha G., Zhelyezna T., Matveev Yu., Zhovmir N. Proceeding of "2nd World Conference on Biomass for Energy, Industry and Climate Protection, 10-14 May 2004, Rome, Italy", p.2408-2411
The paper presents data on biomass potential in Ukraine. There is analyzed present state ofbioenergydevelopment and future targets. Examples of successful implementation of biomass-to-energy projects and theireconomic indicators are given. The strategy ofbioenergy development in Ukraine is proposed. Total energy potentialof biomass in Ukraine is estimated at 12.3 mtoe (9% of the total primary energy consumption). The most promisingteclmologies are direct combustion of biomass for heat production, production ofbioga s from manure on large fanus, extraction and utilization of landfill gas, co-combustion of biomass and fossil fuel for power production.
