Status and prospects of biogas energy use in Ukraine

Almost all types of the organic waste can be used as a row material for digestion. First at all is it agricultural waste of animal or vegetative origin, It can be industry organic waste and municipal wastewater. One more possibility connected to natural digestion processes taking place a t the municipal solid waste landfills. Prospects of the biogas agriculture plants and landfill gas collection and utilization systems at Ukrainian landfills are discussed. Recent examples of the implemented biogas projects are described. The importance of the biogas activities in Ukraine rises in connection with Kyoto protocol, which was recently ratified by Ukrainian Parliament. ( Скачать .pdf )
