Ukrainian experts from Scientific Engineering Centre "Biomass" have recently started test and evaluation works on collecting biogas from landfills. It worth saying that practical researches are covered nearly the whole territory of Ukraine, from the Crimea in the south till Chernigov in the north and Chernovtsy in the west. The project has been realized under support of foreign grants, Ukrainian commercial structures and local authorities interested in its implementation. Director Deputy of SEC "Biomass" Yury Matveev in his interview to "ZE" described the present state of researches being held on Ukrainian landfills and barriers existing in the country to restrain the perspective and potentially profitable energy business.
